“In 2005 Newport Lakes Primary School faced a precarious future with a number of years of declining enrolment, not having an on site Before and After School Care Program was identified by the School Council as a contributing factor.
As Principal at the time I approached Quantin Binnah (QB) with a proposal to introduce Before and After School Care, unfortunately at this time I could not guarantee numbers or foresee the future, it was a risk taking venture for QB and I was appreciative of their willingness to come on board and support the vision of the school.
The program began in 2006 with a very small number of participants, often only one or two children. Norm and Mary (QB) spent many hours at the school promoting the program, supporting their staff and communicating with school council and parents. I believe that the introduction of the program and the quality of care contributed to the positive change in enrolment trend at Newport Lakes PS.
School Holiday programs were introduced, again with small numbers which slowly built up over the years. As the program grew Quantin Binnah supported the school with donations of sport equipment, fitness stations, and other resources. During this period I was aware that all of the programs were running at a considerable financial loss and the school could not have maintained the service without the willingness of Quantin Binnah to deliver the programs regardless of numbers. The feedback I had from parents was that they were very happy with the activities and the staff and as a result of the positive feedback the program began to grow and the numbers had increased to make it a viable service”

“As the principal of Corpus Christi I am extremely pleased that the families in my school community have access to such a high quality Out of School Hours Program. Quantin Binnah have been the providers of the Out of School Hours Program at Corpus Christi since 2010.
I wish to thank Quantin Binnah, the operators of the program, for their excellent management of the program and the provision of wonderful, passionate, dedicated staff who plan great activities for our children.
Our children have loved being part of the program and often ask their parents to attend even on days that out of school hours care is not required. I receive a great deal of positive feedback from my community about how much our students enjoy being involved in the program and how much they enjoy the safe, comfortable and engaging environment provided for them. I would highly recommend this not for profit organisation to anyone wishing to engage a successful Out of School Hours Program for their school community.”
